Hydrogen Cell Cars Are Here all of the major automobile manufactures are building or have built a Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car.
Although no one can agree on the cost will be to develop a national
hydrogen fueling infrastructure the fact is it’s on the way and that is
all there is to it. In my opinion the only thing holding it up is how
is everyone going to get their share of the Pie. The Government has to
figure a way to tax it as they do gasoline to finance road
constriction, road maintenance, and
what ever else they can find to spend the money on. The oil company’s
want there share to replace the revenue lost by the decline of gasoline
sales. So they have to come up with a story as to why we will have to
pay $4.00 a gallon or more for it so we will be able to drive our new Hydrogen Cell Cars.
Well that’s enough of that I don’t I don’t want to get onto that
subject in this article I will save that topic for some other time, the
purpose of this article is to bring everyone up to speed on Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars.
General Motors has made a huge investment in Hydrogen technology betting on Hydrogen Cell Cars as the wave of the future. GM’s
Bob Kruse has said, “We will be using internal combustion engines for
awhile," and that "The 100-mpg car can be thought of as the Volt, (and)
it will achieve this operating on a combination of electric and ICE
propulsion." The Volt, is
GM’s electric car
that will have a range of at least 40 miles between charges, but will
have an on board extended range power source most likely an internal
combustion engine. This engine can be powered by a verity of fuels I am
sure at some point it will be Hydrogen Fuel Cell or a combination of Hydrogen and a fossil fuel of some type. General Motors has planes to have this car in production by 2010 at a price yet to be determined.
BMW has entered the Hydrogen Cell Car arena last year by announcing that they would be
leasing its Hydrogen 7 automobile to select customers in the first part
of last year. BMW has made a bold statement in the field of Hydrogen
Fuel Cell Cars by setting 9 Land Speed Records with its Liquid Hydrogen
powered race car.
Ford has a
Super Chief Truck that can be powered by Gasoline, E85, or Hydrogen Fuel. Besides the Supper Chief Truck Ford also has a Focus FCV in the works. Ford
has several other Hydrogen Fuel Cars and SUV’s on line for production and has already lunched production of a Hydrogen Powered Shuttle Bus in England .
However DamierChrysler
at this point has the most Hydrogen Fuel Cars on the road for testing and or leasing of all the major Auto manufactures. The F-Cell and the Hygenius
are just two examples of their on going research. The Detroit Auto Show hosted their display
of three of Chrysler Concept Cars, the EcoVoyger, the Jeep Renegade,
and the ZEO each with its own Hydrogen Fuel Powered possibilities.
Mazda is discussing offering
the RX-8 at some point that would be capable of running on either gasoline or Hydrogen Fuel at the touch of a button. Their Rotary Engine known as the
Regesis, this motor will be the most likely candidate for the job.
Toyota has been working in the field of Hydrogen Fuel Cars for some time. They have developed a FCHV SUV that can be produced as either a Hybrid or a Hydrogen Fuel
Powered The Toyota FCHV SUV is both a hydrogen vehicle and a hybrid as the automaker is banking on this combination of technology leading the way for years to come. They feel as do many other auto manufactures feel that the Hybrid Fuel System is the way to go now with the totally Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car following later as Hydrogen Fueling Station be come available.
The Honda Car Company’s FCX
Clairty has taken them a Giant step closer top the Hydrogen Fuel Cell
Cars. The Clairty made great strides towards power, weight reduction,
extended driving range, and efficiency over previous attempts of their Hydrogen Fuel Car division. Honda continues to add other Honda Fuel Cell Cars and SUV’s to their list of Hydrogen Fuel Cars with the Honda FXC four passenger car. This vehicle has a separate cooling system for its compact Hydrogen Fuel Cell power plant along with two storage tanks that store up to 156.6Lof Hydrogen Fuel.
So as you can see there will be no shortage of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars and Hydrogen Fuel Cars powered by Hydrogen Fuel in the near future.
